Solid, sterling silver, this wonderful statement antique Victorian Scottish Silver Malachite Love Knot brooch is circa 1900.
Beautiful engraved detail surround the floral and inlaid malachite. In very good condition, couple of hairline surface cracks in the inlay but rock solid (see pics)

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s onwards. Because of Queen Victoria's fondness for Scotland, there was a fad for jewellery made from inlaid stones that is often referred to as "Scottish Pebble" jewellery.
The beautiful brooch is set with a large rich green Malachite stones depicting Scottish leaves. The brooch is a fabulous piece of Victorian history and looks beautiful when worn.
Malachite means Mallow-green stone, due to its resemblance to the leaves of the Mallow plant. The stone radiates the rich green allure of nature displaying the beauty of plants and trees within it’s patterned surface. The vine leaf represents growth, opportunity and renewal as the vine always finds a way to flourish.
Stunning centre leaves, which are in perfect condition. The silver itself is in great condition, I have lightly hand polished the silver & retained it's patina to show the piece off at its best.

Sizing details
I make all my handmade rings, bracelets and pendants to the size requested at checkout. For vintage items, especially bracelets and bangle cuffs please check all measurements in the listing description. Checking sizes against your own jewellery is a good way also to confirm the fit. Please get in contact if you need any help with sizing.

I process and ship vintage and already manufactured items in 1-3 working days. Handmade items, made to a specific size are shipped within 5 to 7 working days. (Weekends excluded)
International postage usually takes 5-7 days to arrive in your country from dispatch, then it's down to customs processing in the buyers country. I supply tracking numbers and timescale info via email for all orders.
